Da Brat, whose real name is Shawntae Harris-Dupart, is an American rapper and philanthropist. Born in Chicago in 1974, she was discovered by Jermaine Dupri at a rap competition and debuted on the Kris Kross song “Da Bomb”. In 1994, she released her debut album Funkdafied, which sold over a million copies and made her the first female solo rapper to go Platinum
